Give thanks to the Lord for He is good, for His steadfast love endures forever!

Welcome to another OOTP Newsletter.

Every now and then I am struck by a ministry who are out there doing wonderful things for the gospel.  This month I have been greatly encouraged by the work that Diana Chapman and Challenge News are doing, handing out gospel-centered newspapers to miners at Perth airport.  While flying off to work, miners read testimonies and articles from people who's life has been changed by Christ.  While mum's wait with their kids for Dad to fly home, the kids colour-in an complete gospel-centered puzzles.  You can read more about Challenge and Diana below.

A few weeks ago you would have received an email about OOTP's third annual conference.  This year it will be held in Sydney, at Northside Baptist Church in Crows Nest on  Friday 30th September - Saturday 1st of October.  It is sure to be a great time of fun and fellowship, so mark it in your diaries now!

Until next month, say safe and in Jesus,
Challenge News
Challenge Literature Fellowship is a Christian mission organisation that produces an evangelistic newspaper to encourage and support Christians, and to help them share their faith.  Diana Chapman joined the paper a couple of years ago after working in the print and animation industries, and is now in charge of the kids pages.  Diana reaches out to the mining community by handing out the paper at the FIFO terminals at Perth airport.  Read more about Challenge and Diana's work here.

Challenge are looking for partner churches in the Perth area to connect FIFO workers with the church when they read the printed material.  If you are interested, please email Diana at diana- at -challengenews.org

"The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me; your steadfast love, O Lord, endures forever.  Do not forsake the work of your hands"  (ESV) Psalm 138:8

Most assuredly, the Psalmist here expresses his confidence in God, and God alone.  He did not say "I have grace enough to fulfill my purposes, that my love is so warm that it will never grow cold, that my resolution is so firm that nothing can move it."  No, his dependence is on the Lord alone.  If we indulge any confidence which is not grounded on the Rock of Ages, our confidence is worse than a dream.  The Psalmist was wise, he rested upon nothing short of the Lord's work.  It is the Lord who has begun the good work within us; it is He who has carried it out.  Our confidence must not be in what we have done, nor in what we will do, but entirely in what the Lord will do.  He has done it all, must do it all, and will do it all.
