For those in and around the mining industry who follow Jesus Christ, or want to know more about him...

Well I hope this all finds you all safe and well.

Steph and I have just got back from an amazing time in WA, starting with the Out of the Pit conference in Kalgoorlie. The team at LMS Group did an outstanding job.

It struck me that, while Australia was busy giving honour to Mary MacKillop as Australia's first man-ordained saint, we had the privelege of meeting with almost 70 God-ordained saints from across the mining industry. These are ordinary men and women who you may never hear of as they are going about God's work quietly and diligently in this industry. Many of them, like you, don't come under a ministry banner or a title - they simply let the light of Christ shine through them, wherever God takes them.

The heart of the ministry is to introduce you to each other, so you can pray, support and encourage each other. All of you who've been to the conference will testify to the power of simply meeting other believers in the industry under one leader - Jesus Christ, with one vision - to tell our industry about Him.

Stay tuned next month, and I'll try to share at least some of the conference with those of you who couldn't make it. We're already planning next year's conference, and we are keen to hear from those of you want to be involved.

In the meantime, may God bless you richly.

This month, Kara Martin has completed the second study in her series of Bible Studies on Work as Ministry.  This study looks at ways that Christians react, once they learn to see their work as ministry, and you can download it here.
If you missed the first study in the series, it's available on the website to download for free.

Thank God for:

  • The OOTP Conference in Kalgoorlie
  • His good plans, and involving us in them
  • The people he is raising up all over the mining industry to tell and teach about Jesus
  • The different people God has made us to be, each with different talents and perspectives

Please Pray for

  • The OOTP network to grow
  • Boldness - that we would let the light of Christ shine through us at work
  • Wisdom for the location of the conference for next year
