Mine Chaplaincy is a critical function in this industry, where the harshness, remoteness and long stretches away from family can sometimes make life unbearable. The incredible impact these men and women make on individuals and company bottom lines is often forgotten.
Out of the Pit aims to:
1. Encourage and connect mine chaplains with each other through our network
2. Advocate Christian chaplaincy in the mining industry
3. Develop a national (Australian) framework by 2012 for 'best-practice' mine chaplaincy, in collaboration with industry stakeholders and our network of chaplains.
We welcome any contact from those of you who have either worked in mine chaplaincy, employed mine chaplains or used mine chaplaincy services. Your combined experiences will help to ensure an ever improving service.
